I thought about this after watching “Loki”. The whole concept of a sacred timeline and every choice one makes, isn’t their own, but what someone decides for us. Basically a script for us to follow, in order to maintain one or more branches of time off the same baseline. Of course, the show goes a little bit deeper as far as the multiverse goes, but I’m stuck wondering about the whole free will part. Are we in control of the choices we make? Or is there some higher power that dictates our choices for us? ...

Exercise. We all have reasons for doing it. Experts claim it’s good for you physically and mentally. I’d like to think they’re correct. You’ve heard me ramble about my reasons for running and I won’t be making a summary statement here on that. Based on my past experiences, I like to create a piece talking about the mental portion of exercise. Exercise has always been a good way for me to clear my head. I think when your body is focused on the actual motion of itself, thinking about other things becomes much more difficult. It’s definitely a good thing. If I’m at the gym, on an elliptical or bike, I just shut my brain off and let my legs go through the motions. Kind of deep, right? Whatever ails us during the day, be it a work thing, life thing, or whatever, having a moment to not deal with it is bliss. I honestly could care less about the workout. I’m not sweating on the bike anyway. It’s just to keep my body in motion after sitting at my desk for 8 hours. ...

As a kid, I craved attention. I looked different for starters. I liked things that weren’t considered “cool”, therefore, I was cast aside. I always looked for ways to be with the majority crowd. As I got older and wiser, it stopped becoming a priority in all aspects of my life. When I do have the spotlight, I try to divert it elsewhere. I don’t want it and I guess I kind of don’t like it either. What a turnaround for me. ...

Sometimes, I don’t understand why work and life are defined as 2 different things. I mean, work IS a part of your life. I suppose it’s when work becomes part of your like excessively is why it must be split up from life. Is that what it means when work becomes personal? The work/life balance is all about having enough time for yourself and your profession, correct? One part money maker, other part money spender. That’s pretty much what your experience from school or whatever is for, right? Just to make money to make ends meet, while saving a little for personal ventures? ...

I’m sure I’ve written about this topic in a previous post that was shorter and made less sense. However, I’ll revisit it on 2019 (or write about it for the first time) because it’s something that’s shaped my character for years. You can thank my high school track coach for making me the terrible person you may (or may not) associate yourself with on the regular. Improving oneself is based on the feedback you receive, either from yourself or others. Now to remain linear, there’s positive and negative feedback. The positive points out what you did right and that’s very encouraging because now you know what to focus on and build upon that. The negative, as you may have guessed, is based on what you didn’t do right, or could have done better. Everyone’s a critic and to grow, taking criticism in order to better yourself is a part of the human condition. ...
